Stuck between two lives, clinging onto something that’s willing to leave or loosely holding onto something new that could grow into anything. You could almost lose your head.

Based on the consumption of the Ortolan Bunting and the frequently debated napkin over the head. Is it to shield your pleasure from god because how could something so succulent come out of torture and pain? Or is it to hide the mess you make knowing that your mouth is pierced with tiny bones and blood adds to the taste? You can’t help but to lap up every bite. You enjoyed me without the world knowing. But those that knew, they hang their head in shame for us both.

On the outside looking in, taken literally. Watching someone experience a life you wanted to be a part of. No matter how gorgeous or fulfilling, you can’t be happy for them because you’re not a part of it. So frowned upon to say, but I really do hope they don’t find the peace they need if I was the one ostracized.
